Acidic Food is Killing Us

Step away from the plate! Meats, dairy, sweets and alcohol abundant in your meal? Very likely, as it seems to be the staple diet of the western world. If it takes and looks good then it finds its way on your dinner plate more often. The less glamorous, but more nutritionally viable things like fresh vegetables and fruit often get left by the way side. But it’s time to turn around the status quo.

Acidic food is probably doing your insides no favours at all. A build up of acid deposits, a culmination of eating too much acidic food can lead to serious health problems, cell decay and research suggests links to cancer. An alkaline balance is needed, for the body and its blood is naturally in the realms of being alkaline on the pH scale. It is this natural balance which needs to be maintained so that the body works healthily and efficiently.

Acidic food can take away vital oxygenation of the blood, and then the body struggles to operate at optimum performance. When that happens it becomes susceptible to foreign invaders, bacterial infection and illnesses. This obviously isn’t a good thing and it is all down to what, and how much of certain acid foods you are commonly eating.

A quick look at an alkaline and acidic food chart will point you in the right direction. It’s not hard to reduce the intake of acid foods, with a bit of careful forethought it can all be simply planned out. Just veer towards the vegetable aisle in the store and you’ll be guiding yourself right.

Acid foods still have their place, like the essential nutrients from meat, but they should be taken in moderation and supplemented with a high dose of alkaline diet foods. Around 70 to 80% of your diet should be alkaline. Get those vegetables and get back to your plate!
