Apparently I’m not in balance. At least my blood may not be.
I recently discovered a weight loss system called an Alkalizing Diet. It’s all to do with the types of food I eat and how the blood needs balancing to keep its natural pH levels. Foods either leave behind traces of acids or alkaline in your body once you have processed and metabolized them. Either substance is naturally then in your blood and can affect the rest of your insides and general health.
Your blood typically is a little on the alkaline side, but, it’s fair to say that the western world’s favoured diet isn’t one that leans towards the side of the alkaline (such things as fruit and vegetables). This is where the alkalizing diet comes into its own, for it attracts the right foods onto your dinner plate which contains that all important alkaline instead of acids.
When the body, especially mine, takes in too much acid from all the good things like sweets, alcohol and dairy products the blood’s natural balance is disrupted. Losses of minerals, like calcium, sodium and potassium are then in a state of loss as the body tries to repair the balance. Common ailments such as headaches, colds, flu and anxiety have all been linked to having too much acid in your diet, according to some practitioners. It’s all to do with this imbalance.
The alkalizing diet will bring fresh fruits and vegetables, and add nuts and legumes for a bit of protein. A quick search on the internet turned up a whole list of alkaline and acid based foods, so you can’t go wrong. Not only does this balance up the body and promote general good health, apparently the alkalizing diet is also great when it comes to weight loss. It gives you the right types of food to help shed some pounds, so it’s an all round home run if you ask me.
70% to 80% of alkaline based foods should be going into my body on an alkalizing diet. I guess that big bowl of ice cream will have to transform into a pineapple. See, it’s not hard to change your lifestyle. As long as you see plenty of fruits and vegetables before you, you should find a good balance and reap the healthy benefits of an alkalizing diet.
All those common complaints you have. All those annoying cold symptoms, the days in bed with flu. The headaches, the join pains…it isn’t necessary to suffer so much or so often from these things. Whilst it is inevitable that you’ll get some of them at some point, a bit of preventative medicine can reduce the risk of catching things.
Take an alkaline diet, full of the goodness of vegetables and fruit and naturally abundant in vitamins and enzymes that keeps the immune system healthy and powerful. An alkaline diet, replacing a lot of acidic foods like meats, dairy and sweets with more healthy options, helps to keep the natural blood pH levels in the realm of alkalinity. My blood is alkaline, so is yours. It needs to stay that way to protect and serve the vital organs inside.
Too much of the acid foods in your diet, and your pH levels can change. They can take a swing into the dark realms of acidity and cause a build up of problems in your system. The body has to undertake a lot more stress to rid itself of all the acid within, and when it starts depositing it in certain places in order to keep the blood clean, you get a build up. The acid build up causes cell decay.
But all is not lost in the fight to stay healthy. An alkaline diet can wrap your insides up in cotton wool and help protect from infections which can be caught with immune deficiency. The alkaline diet keeps your body on top of its game and rewards will be seen in your energy levels, your skin, your vitality and weight. By nature of the diet, it will also help shed pounds as well as feeding you a healthy dose of all the natural elements your body needs.
It didn’t take long to find recipes for an alkaline diet on the internet. It didn’t take long to find a chart of acid/alkaline foods. It didn’t take long since switching to start feeling better on the inside.
A nice dish of hummus, some lime chilli stir fry, some broccoli soup, some lentil salad, a fresh fruit salad. It all sounds wonderful. They’ll all feel wonderful, or at least make me feel wonderful when I eat them as part of an acid alkaline diet. These are the good, natural, wholesome foods that my body needs to stay at its peak because they aid in bringing a steady supply of alkaline to me.
A good alkaline balance is needed in your system, because blood is naturally alkaline, but a lot of the food that finds its way into our diets is acidic. Meats, dairy, sweets, alcohol etc, all the good stuff that we have already been told that an excess of is not good for us, because of weight gain and high cholesterol levels amongst other things, are also detrimental to us because of the residues of acid they leave behind. Acid build up in the body only leads to an inner environment which is weak and susceptible to illness.
An acid alkaline diet taken in balance, where there is more alkaline being metabolised from foods than acid, can bring untold rewards for your body. High alkaline levels means that your body isn’t going to have to work overtime in the office to try and rid itself of excess acids. Those excess acids can really bring down your body and have been linked to a lot of common illnesses, as well as more serious conditions like cancer.
The fuel which I put in my body ultimately effects how well my engine will run. It is about taking all the acid foods in moderation, and enjoying more of the raw, organic foods which will give the body the boost in vitamins, protein and enzymes that it needs to run at optimum. When it does, the immune system is strong and isn’t weakened by the consequences of too much acid.
A balance of an acid alkaline diet can bring your system into harmony, where it should be. So stock up on the vegetables and fruit and eat your way healthier.
Foods leave behind a trace of either acid or alkaline. Most foods in the modern day diet are acidic. What does that equal? Problems for your body from an excess of acids left in the system after being metabolised from food. Excess of acids can leads to minor and more serious illnesses such as cancer.
Suggestions from research has shown links to an acid-rich diet weakening the immune system, because the body needs its natural alkaline levels to sustain a healthy working order. When that balance is disrupted then it is like sending an open invitation to illnesses and infections to come over and party inside. There is evidence to suggest that, because cancer cells are acidic and enjoy low-oxygenated environments within, a cancer alkaline diet can provide some prevention because alkaline levels increase when the blood is well oxygenated. When the natural balance of alkaline levels are where they should be, it means that it should provide environments where cancer cannot be born or survive.
It’s when there gets too much acid that needs dumping from the body. The body naturally finds a place to store it, and that place can suffer cell decay, which in turn leads to the creation of more acid. The cells that are stubborn and survive in these areas, do so by becoming abnormal. Malignant. Cancerous.
So a cancer alkaline diet can possibly provide a little protection. Natural foods like vegetables, legumes and fruit all help to keep the alkaline levels around the 7.4pH mark, where they should be. But, not only can an alkaline diet be looked upon for prevention of cancer, the all round health benefits of such a dietary plan brings so much more. It can aid with weight loss, boosting energy and vitality as well as keeping you looking young. You benefit from all the natural supplements of vitamins and enzymes that fresh and raw foods deliver.
Goodness and a helping hand from Mother Nature. Put yourself in her hands and let her take care of you.
It’s about taking a stance of balance in everything that you do. Too much of a good thing is bad, so I’ve heard, though I’ve never really associated that fact with chocolate. But, lo and behold how wrong I have been. So very wrong.
Chocolate is one of those highly acidic foods which is so predominant in the western world’s lazy, comfort food based diets. Turns out that too much acidic food is bad for you. This time we’re not talking weight issues, although I will touch upon that later, but this is about maintaining the natural harmony of your body.
An acid alkaline balance diet. Yes, diet. But bear with me here. Research has shown that too much acidic foods can be the cause of disease and illness within you. Your blood is alkaline and with so much acidic foods going in, being metabolised, the pH balance of ‘you’ can altar and head towards the bad end of the scale.
An acid alkaline balance diet does exactly what it may suggest. It balances the intake of acid and alkaline, with the prominence being given to the latter. Great sources of alkaline comes from delicious things like fresh vegetables (not overcooked as it’ll kill off vital enzymes) and fruit and with a healthy diet of those things, your alkaline levels can be helped kept in check. Too much acid equals a weakening of the body’s system, equals a breeding ground for disease and infection.
Keep yourself healthy – internally and externally. The benefits from switching to an acid alkaline balance diet doesn’t just come in the one form of keeping your blood levels correct. That in turn leads to other benefits, including weight loss and maintaining weight control. So you can keep yourself feeling young, keep yourself feeling full of more energy and keep your alkaline levels riding high.
